Artisan Guild Study Groups:
Spinning and WeavingMembers of the Spin/Weave Study Group gather each month to play with fibers of all types. Learn to spin yarn, practice spinning techniques, share ideas for creating special 'designer' yarns, or just sit, spin, and chat. Weaving topics for weavers in the Group range from basic weaving skills to more advanced discussions on weave structures and color theory. This Group also forms the nucleus of the Guild’s Sheep-to-Shawl demonstration and competition teams. The Spin/Weave Study Group meets the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Glen Carbon Illinois Yanda Log Cabin during the months April through October. The Group meets at the O'Fallon Illinois Public Library the third Thursday of each month during the months November through March from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Holidays and other activities may result in meeting rescheduling. It is best to contact the Guild via email to confirm meeting date, time, and location. You must be a member of the Guild to belong to a study group, but visitors are welcome.
